Passang Sherpa

Passang Dawa Sherpa leads this company's Everest-region departures and holds a Nepal Mountaineering Association trekking guide licence. Born in Phortse at 3,840 m, he worked as a porter on the Gokyo route before training as a guide, and his experience covers every teahouse route in the Khumbu as well as the Three Passes circuit.

Passang writes and reviews all Everest-region content on this site. His trail-condition updates come from his own departures and from a network of lodge owners in Namche, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep. He carries a Wilderness First Responder certification and has coordinated helicopter evacuations above 5,000 m.
