Tibet is the high plateau region north of Nepal reached overland via the Kathmandu-to-Lhasa highway or by flight, requiring a Chinese group visa and Tibet Travel Permit arranged through a licensed agency rather than issued to individual travellers. Independent travel is not permitted anywhere in the Tibet Autonomous Region; every visitor moves with a licensed guide on a pre-approved itinerary. Our main Tibet product is the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, an 11 to 13 day pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar run via Simikot and Hilsa; we also arrange Tibet as an extension to a Nepal trek, most often a Lhasa and Everest North Base Camp add-on paired with Everest Base Camp on the Nepal side.

Every Tibet booking, whether the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra or a Lhasa extension, runs on the same Chinese Group Visa and Tibet Travel Permit process, a different regulatory system from the TIMS card and national park entries that cover the rest of this site's Nepal content.
