Field Stories is this site's collection of dated, first-person trip reports and named client interviews, published from actual departures rather than written once and left standing. Every flagship route on this site gets at least two trip reports a year, written by the guide who led that specific departure, with the trail conditions, weather, and surprises from that exact trip. Client interviews name the traveller, the trek, and specific details: which teahouse, which pass, what went wrong.
This is deliberately different from the trail-condition updates on each trip page, which are short monthly field notes. Stories here run longer: a full account of a specific departure, or a client's own account of theirs, both dated and both attributed to a real person.
A trip report proves a guide was actually on the trail on a specific date, which generic advice never can. "On our last three EBC departures, the Lukla flight left on time twice" is a claim you can check against the report it came from; "flights may be delayed" is not. Every report on this site names its author, its date, and its route, and links back to the trip page it belongs to.
Client interviews add the second voice this site is built around: what the people who paid for the trek experienced, in their own words, with their name attached.
